Founded in 1995, Independent Tractor Services is a very adaptable and versatile organisation, made up of enterprising people with a cheerful approach to life and work.

These qualities have enabled us to survive, thrive and grow, in conditions both good and very challenging.

ITS people have chalked up a wealth of experience, which starts with Managing Director Paul Collins, who has been involved in the maintenance, rebuilding and servicing of tractors, especially Deutz tractors, for twenty five year. He has been working weith Same and Gaspardo for over a decade.

Our Workshop Manager Nick Eliou has nearly forty years’ experience under his belt. 

Paul's wealth of experience is invaluable in providing the best possible support and back-up service for customers, and over the years, his knowledge and skill has filtered throughout the company. 

Paul shares his knowledge with employees on a daily basis, working side by side with staff in the workshop, and providing leadership, supervision and inspiration.

Paul wound up in Zimbabwe in 1980, at the culmination of an exciting overland expedition all the way from the UK to Cape Town. He was so impressed with our country, he decided to settle and has been living here very happily every since.

A qualified mechanic, he worked in various farming districts including Chinhoyi, where he gained his first exposure to Deutz tractors at Duly's. 

Moving to Harare, he joined Tractor and Equipment, part of the Rio Tinto Group, as Workshop Manager.  The company had the agency for Deutz-Fahr, and while there, Paul visited their headquarters in Germany. 

In 1995, with much valuable experience behind him, he started his own company - and Independent Tractor Services was born.

Nick Eliou has clocked up 40 years of experience in agricultural equipment.  Nick like Paul first started working with Deutz tractors at Duly’s, where for 22 years he travelling all over Zimbabwe and the region, servicing and overhauling tractors and other agricultural equipment. Nick’s wealth of experience is a major asset for ITS.  He offers expert advice and can find cunning solutions to the most complex challenges in the workshop. 

Within five years, ITS had expanded so much that it built new premsies at Chawara Road to accommodate its expansive modren worrksop.

ITS has ensured over the years that it has identified and then retained excellent artisans and other support staff who really understand the equipment they sell and maintain.
